I know I'm a bit late and that Gossip Girl season four finished weeks ago, but what can I say? I was hoarding episodes like a hungry hamster, storing nutritious, delightful Upper East Side scandals for the long summer months when we are denied such follies.
So, it was only last night that I, finally, saw the 22nd episode of this wonderful series. And it was so romantic, I nearly cried. (And it was only 'nearly' because my cynical boyfriend was in the room and he would have mocked me for developing such a keen interest in false realities.)
I love each and all characters of GG, even the villians, if they are portrayed well. Like Georgina, for example. You just know she'll be back causing trouble with this Charlie/Ivy character and I, for one, cannot wait. Georgina is a fantastic character who always gets a laugh from me.
However entertaining Georgina is though, she's not very romantic. I imagine her role will have repercussions on one relationship, but it won't be direct. If she does help Charlie/Ivy with a wildly implausible, and thus entertaining, scheme, she'll likely use it to her own advantage. Somehow informing either Dan or Serena, consequently bringing them back together. For what is Gossip Girl without a Darena sub plot?
Back to the season finale, every bodies favourite Queen B was in demand. This post is written with bias as Blair Waldorf happens to be my favourite character.
So, who is your favourite B coalition? Dair? Chair? ...'Blouis'? That one doesn't sound as good. But that doesn't mean they don't look good.
They look fabulous. Blair has always wanted to be a princess. Marrying into royalty would have been her natural path in life, surely?
But then there's Chuck. Chuck has, without a doubt, thrown Blair's life out of whack. Completely off balance. In a most addictive fashion. Key words as Blair loves fashion and Chuck is a sucker for addiction. (Foreshadowing: a future storyline? Hardcore addiction for old school Chuck? Nah, I think he's matured...)
With Chuck blessing, only Blair's dreams of Mr Bass can get in the way. Right?
Or not. Dan's book from Brooklyn to the Upper East Side favoured only Miss Waldorf. A princess does loved to be favoured. Can Dan take our soon-to-be proncesses heart?
They have an odd chemistry, concocted from similar interests and a silent resentment of Serena Van Der Woodsen. Their love would be so easy. Spending days on end learning and conquering their own mislead limitations. Being together alone would break a taboo that could be irrestible... But could Blair ever truly 'slum it' with a boy from Brooklyn? Maybe. Especially now that he's a well known author that lives on the Upper East.
Who knows? That's the least of our worries, really. The main question on everybodies lips:
Who's the mummy? (And subsequently, who's the daddy?)
