Being the Twitter entity that she is, Lily Rose Allen showcased her married name on her homepage. Welcome to the mad house Mrs L R Cooper.
I have admired her commitment to complying with matrimonial tradition despite the attention and intrusion of the media. Ms Allen has always been known to go against the media grain, in seemingly every aspect of her life.
If we take a look at other 'celebrities' similar to Lily Allen, there are obvious differences:
One of Lily Allen's previous media rivals, Cheryl Cole, married famous footballer and now well known love rat: Ashley Cole. When Ms Cole married said love rat, the couple sold the rights to their wedding photographs to Ok! magazine, reportedly worth £1 million. They then continued to appear together in several magazine deals and many a photoshoot.
Lily has married Mr Sam Cooper, a builder and 'non-entity'. The only pictures in the press were stolen snaps from a few lucky papos. And I can only imagine Lily would prefer to carry out her wedded bliss with as much privacy as possible.
Now, I have absolutely nothing wring with Cheryl Cole. I think she is beautiful, of course, as a nation's sweetheart deservedly should be. But, as she has learnt the hard way, the limelight isn't the best place for all affairs. Key word.
Lily's wedding was a small, closed ceremony in Gloucestershire and the after party was held in her own back garden. There were no magazine deals and the paparazzi were not welcome.
My favourite part of the reception however was the 'red phone box full of beer, a Pimms stand, a cupcake stall and a hog roast.' This is
exactly want I want. With the addition of some cider in that there phone box.
The new Ms Cooper looked stunning in her Manivet, vintage style dress and in some pictures you can even see the little bump that made that day even more special.
I wish them all the best in married life and with their little bundle of joy that's on the way.
